What's the difference between a tax accountant and a general accountant?
I would say that it's analogous to the difference between a plumber and an electrician.
Both plumbers and electricians work with their hands, solving issues and installing pipes or wires.
Sounds a bit similar, and both are probably very handy and could do some of the other's basic work without a problem.
Same goes for accountants. Tax accountants specialize in taxes, general accountants specialize in general financial accounting.
Both would have studied some material on the other's job, and can do the basics of the other's job.
But have very different jobs, just like a plumber and an electrician.
Make sure to hire the right one for the job.
